Paul Gidney said in March 2011
Had five Hilux before, know them to be great workhorses and exactly what I need to carry out the work I do, this one is certainly the best equipped and most comfortable by far. Only wish they offered off road tyres as an option.

Very good all rounder, slightly less economical than the brochures would have you believe.

I am really happy with the vehicle but it would be ideal to have a mute button on the stereo.

The Toyota hilux knocks the socks of any other pickup truck in all classes

I tried several pick-ups and the Hilux was head and shoulders above them all in the handling/driving stakes. It is equipped with all I need in the cab. Totally reliable so far after 4,000 miles. Average MPG is 32-33 of mixed driving. It is hugely practical for its use as the family car. Camping stuff...no problem, pile it all in. 40 breeze blocks and some cement...no problem, hose the back out, give the exterior a quick wash and it doesn't look out of place in any pub car park. Mine is obviously a personal and not company 'truck' but does everything any of my cars have done plus much more. I intend to keep it for several years, have booked an offroad weekend and want to do a fortnight/three weeks trip to Libya in 2011.....I couldn't contemplate that in a Mondeo/320d etc. Very Impressed !

Toyota reliability and quality, a bit underpowered with high fuel consumption.
Tony Binns said in December 2009
only thing missing is a difflock
Jason Pearce said in December 2009
Bullet proof reliability, great performance and handling, cheap servicing costs and great economy. Apart from a few niggles with chrome work discoloring (all sorted under warranty) my 3.0 Invincible was completely trouble free & over the couple of years i owned it averaged 32mpg. Nothing beats the practicality of a pickup and no other pickup beats the Toyota Hilux.
