While the Navara operates in a crowded marketplace – with a load of other one-tonne 4x4 pickups – Nissan has 80 years' experience in it, and the latest version of the Navara is a clear reminder of that. It's comfortable, comes with a five-year warranty and can take a beating…what more do you need?
Nissan seems to have it all right now…the Qashqai, Juke and X-Trail are fantastic vehicles proving popular across the board, and in the latest version of the Navara pickup truck they've tried to combine a little bit of each of those vehicles into one rugged package. And they've only gone and made it work.
It's also a popular choice among our customers – Patrick Burton said: "It's an excellent multi use vehicle – just as expected." And another laid his cards firmly on the table when Adam Callis called it "the best pickup money can buy".
Look, feel and added perks
It may have that usual pickup truck feel on the outside, but on the inside Nissan has gone for the "well-appointed car" look. But the outside isn't left behind, as our customer David Newton points out, saying he thinks the Navara "looks stunning in Savanah Yellow" and is getting his business noticed.
What may be the best thing about this vehicle is that ALL new Navara's come with a five-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer's warranty, which should offer a lot of people a lot of peace of mind – who knows, it might even be the thing that tips you onto it.
Cracking running costs
Every single version of this truck has an mpg in the 40s – this is great news for someone looking for a pickup that won't cost an arm and a leg. Tony King, a Pickup Trucks Direct customer, said: "The vehicle is already giving me more mpg than I thought would be possible in such a large vehicle, and it cruises effortlessly on the motorway."
The Navara has always had a strong reputation for being able to carry and tow a lot of weight, and it's not changed in the latest versions. Maximum carry weight in the rear load bay is over 1,000kg, and maximum towing weight is a whopping 3,500kg.
That weight is safely carried by the powerful diesel engines – available in a few flavours from a 2.3l single turbo to a more powerful twin-turbo. If you need to carry weight, maybe plump for the latter – it's got all the juice you'll ever need.
Nissan promised that the Navara pickup would continue to offer refinement and increased performance while remaining a dependable workhorse. More efficient engines, better suspension and stylish interior keep it up there in the minds of pickup drivers across the UK…add in reduced emissions, and the excellent five-year warranty, and it seems that Nissan is in with a shout for class leadership!
