Individuals leasing Toyota Hilux pickups may want to take heed of a warning from the manufacturer about the importance of preparing vehicles for the colder months.
Toyota recommends switching summer wheels for winter tyres in order to ensure cars are prepared for hazardous conditions.
It was suggested that driving on ice and snow can make the risk of accidents considerably larger and fair-weather tyres are not ideal.
Steve Settle, Toyota director of customer services, said: "Safety is of paramount importance and we have designed our winter tyre programme to give our customers the means to maintain their vehicle's performance when driving conditions are at their worst."
Winter wheels provide better grip and allow individuals shorter stopping distances than standard tyres in both wet and dry surfaces when temperatures fall below seven degrees C.
Mytyres.co.uk recently explained how there is a lack of awareness among fleet operators about the benefits of using special wheels throughout the darker, colder months of the year.
