Truck registration up 21.5 per cent

Truck registrations rose 21.5 per cent to 4,503 in November, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Those driving Ford Ranger pickups may be interested to hear the increase has helped boost the rolling year's total to 41,507, which is a rise of 24.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, van registrations were up 18.6 per cent, which boosted the total for the year so far by 17.7 per cent.
The number of units increased from 22,684 to provide a rolling sum of 258,824.
SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt commented how November saw the commercial vehicle market continue its upward trend.
"London's new Low Emission Zone comes into effect on January 3rd ... so we expect to see a boost to registration levels next month and through the early part of 2012," Mr Everitt added.
In October, van and truck figures reflected an increase of 10.7 per cent to 23,580 units.
