Toyota Hilux drivers among those facing unfair taxes?

Out of every £1 spent at the pump by companies conducting Toyota Hilux leasing, just 38 pence is for the fuel.
That is according to a report conducted by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) - entitled Motoring taxation and public spending - which indicated that the percentage of tax paid by motorists in 2010 was 62 per cent.
During the year the cost of diesel at the pump rose by 18 per cent, while petrol was upped by 27 per cent.
However, it also noted the government spent ten times less on roads that what businesses and individuals spend on motoring.
"Using so little of the taxes motorists pay on road upkeep is plainly unfair," said Neil Greig, director of policy and research for IAM.
This follows recent comments by head of training at IAM Simon Elstow, who suggested adjusting headrests can minimise the risk of a driver suffering whiplash.
