Take care driving in bright sun, motorists warned

When driving Ford Ranger trucks in dazzling sunshine it is important to slow down and look out for vehicles behind.
This is according to advice from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), which warned individuals that other motorists may have their vision obscured by the bright light.
In order to avoid an accident and make travelling in such conditions easier, people were urged to ensure they keep their water bottles topped up with screenwash.
Driver training specialist at the IAM Drive and Survive Elstow said: "Dirty windscreens make it even more difficult for drivers to see in the low sun we get every morning and late afternoon in the winter months."
As a result, motorists should clean their screens inside and out with glass cleaner once a week and keep a good pair of sunglasses in the car, he stated.
People may find it particularly difficult to see clearly while driving over the next few days as the Met Office has predicted bright sunshine and warm temperatures for much of the UK.
