'Study foreign driving rules' before taking Ford Rangers abroad

Individuals planning on leasing a Ford Ranger and taking it to Europe may be among those who are unsure of the rules of driving abroad.

New research carried out by Confused.com found that while 51 per cent of people have driven outside of the UK, only 53 per cent were aware that an international driving permit is required in some countries.

A further 23 per cent failed to realise that a GB sticker must be displayed when taking a British car to certain nations.

Other regulations that many were unaware of included rules surrounding the use of headlamp converters and the importance of carrying warning triangles in vehicles.

Gareth Kloet, head of car insurance at Confused.com, said: "Taking your car on holiday can be very liberating and if you're equipped for the trip then you'll feel more confident and avoid getting into trouble."

It was suggested by the organisation that drivers should have their vehicles undergo a service before travelling abroad.
