Safe Driving in the Snow

With the first real snowfall of the winter hitting much of the home counties today, many tyre manufacturers and distributors are reminding motorists of the need to have adaquate tread to cope with the conditions.

Drivers may find that insufficient tread can lead to a loss of traction as well as affecting their ability to steer and brake effectively.

While pickup truck drivers enjoy four wheel drive on their vehicles, many are unaware that special cold weather tyres exist for their vehicles. Cold weather tyres contain more natural rubber than summer tyres and give extra grip in cold, wet and icy conditions particularly in temperatures below 7 Centigrade.
