Nissan to fund charge point in Lincoln

Nissan Navara pickup truck drivers may be interested to hear that the manufacturer is set to bring the first electric vehicle plug to Lincoln.
The East Midlands city will have a charging point funded by Nissan after it was highlighted on Top Gear that there was a lack of such facilities in the area.
A PodPoint unit with two sockets will allow owners of electric vehicles to charge their car for free.
It is expected to be installed next month and James May and Jeremy Clarkson will be invited to unveil the device, according to portfolio holder for environmental services and public protection at Lincoln Council Councillor Fay Smith.
This comes after the pair attempted to charge their electric vehicles after passing through the city and found they were left stranded.
As a result, the motoring experts were forced to pass cables through an open window at the university so they could repower their cars.
Clarkson and May present Top Gear alongside fellow host Richard Hammond.
