New Ford Ranger 'offers improved suspension'

The latest Ford Ranger model has an improved core that is designed to offer quality driving dynamics alongside toughness.

This is according to the manufacturer, which described how the latest offering in the pickup truck range has a brand-new chassis, steering system and suspension.

Ford Ranger chief program engineer John Tatge said: "The result is a tough pickup truck that provides the best possible road manners.

"For traditional pickup buyers, the benefits are huge, with no compromises in payload capacity or towing ability."

He added that the Ranger offers "refined road handling" without the usual harshness found among pickups.

Engineers are understood to have developed a chassis that is stable, agile, comfortable and precise, with the frame said to be longer and stiffer.

The new Ford Ranger is available in either two or four-wheel drive versions with six-speed transmissions, in both manual and automatic form, which reduces engine revolutions per minute.
