Drivers taking to the road in their Ford Ranger pickups may want to take extra care this week as one body has claimed recent events could raise the chance of accidents occurring.
According to DIAmond Advanced Motorists, the combination of people returning to work after half-term and the change from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time could lead to a rise in incidents.
Steve Garrod, DIAmond group manager, said: "It was suggested that statistics show an 11 per cent increase in collisions in the days following the clocks going back, as drivers are caught out by nights turning darker earlier."
It was also noted that the roads are likely to be busier this week compared with the last 14 days, as people return to the school run and commute as half-term draws to a close.
Elsewhere, DIAmond Advanced Motorists recently welcomed a report from the Department of Transport that revealed the number of casualties and deaths among road users has fallen.
