Motorists have been advised that winter provides the perfect opportunity for car thieves as the nights get darker, news which may encourage Isuzu Rodeo drivers to increase their security.
Stolen vehicle recovery system company Tracker is urging individuals to be extra conscious of keeping their cars safe as the clocks are turned back this weekend.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, British Summer Time will come to an end as the nation sets its time zone back one hour to Greenwich Mean Time.
According to Tracker, throughout winter, stolen vehicle recoveries increase by 20 per cent, with some incidents occurring as owners leave the engines running while they defrost their cars.
"Our figures confirm that the winter's extra hours of darkness allow more time for thieves to break into vehicles unseen, with November, January and February being the worst months," Tracker's police relationships manager Stuart Chapman stated.
Recent research from the organisation revealed that more than 90 per cent of motors fitted with a tracing device are recovered.
