Mitsubishi production up on 2010

Individuals looking to hire Mitsubishi L200 vans may be interested to hear the manufacturer's sales and export results for June.

The total global production for the month came in at 106,267 vehicles, which was a rise of 15.1 per cent on the same period in 2010.

This was also the first consecutive year-on-year monthly increase since May 2011, when 92,785 units were produced at a rise of 11.2 per cent.

In Japan vehicle sales were down ten per cent on the same month last year, which marked the tenth consecutive decline since September 2010.

Meanwhile in Europe, output fell 12.1 per cent on the previous 12 months due to "sluggish sales in the region".

However, overseas production totalled 47,198 units, which was noted as a 25.3 per cent increase on June last year and the sixth consecutive monthly year-on-year increase since January.

In May, the total global production was 92,785 vehicles, a rise of 11.2 per cent on the same period in 2010.
