Companies leasing Mitsubishi L200 vans may benefit from a new agreement between TomTom and the Highways Agency.
The organisations have come together to launch a service that will see up-to-date traffic information from motorways and A roads streamed live to sat nav devices.
Roads minister Mike Penning says: "This agreement between the Highways Agency and TomTom is a good example of public and private sectors working together to assist road users and exploit today's technology."
He added that the service will help ensure motorists have access to the latest traffic information, which may prove particularly useful during the holiday season.
The Highways Agency is responsible for managing 4,300 miles of roads across the UK and collects data on the flow of vehicles using state-of-the-art monitoring equipment.
Motorists can plan their journey from door-to-door using the organisation's online tools, which cover vehicle routes, public transport and cycle pathways.
