IAM launches winter driving safety site

Individuals leasing Mitsubishi L200 pickups may want to check out a new website launched in a bid to help drivers stay safe when behind the wheel in bad conditions.

Road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has created drivingadvice.org.uk in order to remind people of how they can prepare their vehicles for winter weather.

Spokeswoman for the organisation Caroline Holmes said: "The number of serious crashes on Britain's roads is reducing and we want to see that trend continue."

It was noted that rain, snow, fog, ice and wind can make driving treacherous and increase the number of accidents.

Those who visit the website will be able to view tips on how to travel safely in such weather and view forecasts detailing what conditions are expected.

One piece of advice from the IAM that not only helps individuals to be safer - but also helps to save money - is to de-ice windows before starting the engine, as this will reduce fuel use.
