Individuals who may have to travel in their Isuzu Rodeo during adverse weather conditions this winter may want to take note of one expert's tips.
Driver training specialist at the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Drive & Survive body Simon Elstow explained the best way to stay safe when faced with ice.
"We all need to respect the weather and make adjustments to deal with it. Being mentally prepared as well as having the right equipment is vital," he stated, adding that now is the time to start thinking about difficult conditions.
Mr Elstow advised motorists to set off in second gear when on level ground or downhill and to avoid parking in a place that would mean heading out uphill.
It was also suggested that stopping distances should be increased by up to ten times in icy conditions and staying in higher gears can stop wheel spin.
The IAM recently claimed that Britain's roads are set to be more hazardous than ever this winter as council cutbacks will mean less gritting will take place.
