Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck leasing may have helped to increase the number of vehicle registrations last month.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said registrations of pickups were up by 70.3 per cent in February compared to January to stand at 1,071.
Such a boost could be partly attributed to the popularity of Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck leasing, which may allow businesses to secure the ideal vehicles for their fleet without having to deliver a large upfront cost.
For the year to date, pickup registrations had increased by 71.6 per cent, dropping to 14.6 per cent for the rolling year.
Commenting on the figures, chief executive officer of the group Paul Everitt said: "SMMT is looking for a freeze on fuel duty and measures that support business investment and access to finance and credit," adding that the commercial vehicle sector is on the up.
Businesses that take up Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck leasing deals can enjoy features such as the capability to tow 2,700 kg and a five-speed automatic gearbox.
It has also been voted pickup of the year 15 times in 18 years by What Van?.
