Cleaning a vehicle 'prevents corrosion'

Individuals leasing Toyota Hilux pickups may want to ensure they keep their vehicles clean in order to avoid corrosion.

Vlad Samarin, editor of Samarins.com, described how it is important to remove dead leaves and debris from around the windshield as well as the water channels around the trunk.

Failing to do so can cause the drains to become blocked and moisture will accumulate, while corrosion will increase.

"Things like dead flies and bugs, bird droppings or limestone dripping can damage the paint, leaving permanent stains if not washed off in time," Mr Samarin added.

Winter is a particularly bad time of year for paint damage, as salt that is placed on road surfaces to help with snow and ice can also speed up corrosion.

Mr Samarin recently commented that touching up stone chips or scratches as soon as they appear can help prevent further damage in the long-run, which may be expensive to fix.
