Aggressive driving behaviour 'handed down to children'

Parents who drive Toyota Hilux pickups vans may want to think carefully about their behaviour when in the vehicle with their children.
This is after new research from AXA car insurance revealed young motorists are three times more likely to have points on their licence if their parents do.
It was also found that children who witness their mother or father drink driving are seven times more likely to follow in their footsteps.
Likewise, adults that are deemed aggressive behind the wheel by their offspring are 50 per cent more likely to notice their children swearing, beeping or flashing other motorists.
Robin Reames, chief claims officer at AXA car insurance, said: "The danger is that those habits and behaviours, while never acceptable, can prove more dangerous among young and inexperienced drivers."
The findings follow the Institute of Advanced Motorists recent call for the insurance companies to overhaul their systems as young drivers are said to be at risk of being priced out of the market.
